PERIPHERAL ODONTOGENIC FIBROMA (POF) is an uncommon, benign, unencapsulated, exophytic mass over the gingiva. The mass contains fibrous connective tissue covered with a surface epithelium. Odontogenic epithelium should be observed in the mass and mineralized material may also be found. Since recurrent POF was rare though there is increasing data showed significant recurrence rate, we described a case of the lesion that recurred after initial excision in this present article. The special method of repairing the excisional defect is reported as following. And its differential diagnosis including hyperplastic lesion over the gingiva and peripheral odontogenic tumor (POT) are also discussed.
